Center urged to reduce Dabolim buffer zone from 200 mtr to 50 mtr: CM

    Digital Goa, Aug 25 – Goa govt has urged Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to reduce the buffer zone at Dabolim from 200 mtr to 50 mtr. A meeting will be held with defence incharge from Goa within next 15 days in this regards. CM Sawant along with tourism minister Rohan Khaunte and Transport minister Mauvin Godinho met Rajnath Singh, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman and Union Sports Minister Anurag Thaku in Delhi today. 
    Union Ministers have assured that Dabolim will continue to operate
     Dabolim Airport will continue to operate under any condition, Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has assured to CM Pramod Sawant. Speaking to media in New Delhi this evening, CM Sawant said that infrastructure of Dabolim Airport is being continuously upgraded and therefore there is no question of closure of Dabolim Airport. Defence Minister Singh has also assured that civilian operations will continue from the airport.
