Centre approves Bandora site for permanent IIT Goa campus, asks state to transfer land

    Digital Goa, June 11 – Ministry of Education has approved the recommendation of the Site Selection Committee (SSC) for the proposed permanent campus of IIT Goa at Bandora village in Ponda taluka and has asked the Goa government to complete the necessary documentation and transfer the land to the institute at the earliest.In a communication dated June 11 addressed to the Secretary (Education), Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa, the Ministry stated that the SSC had visited the site proposed by the state government on May 19, 2026. The recommendations made by the committee have since been approved by the competent authority.
    The Ministry has now requested the state government to expedite the formalities required for transferring the land to IIT Goa, paving the way for the establishment of the institute’s permanent campus.
