Centre notifies acquiring of 3.667 lakh sq mtr land at Cuncolim for NH-66 expansion

Digital Goa, August 6 – Central Government has officially acquired 36.6779 hectares of land (3.66 lakh sq mtr) at Cuncolim for the purpose of building, widening, maintenance, management, and operation of National Highway 66 on the Uskinibandh (Cuncolim) to Bendordem stretch in Goa, covering the section between Km 561.890 to Km 570.220. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways issued a notification to this effect on August 4, 2025. Objections raised by affected parties were duly considered by the competent authority, and a report was submitted to the Central Government. Upon receipt and review of the report, the Centre declared the land acquisition final. As per the law, the land now vests absolutely with the Central Government, free from all encumbrances, states the notification.
