Digital Goa, Sept 13- Goa govt’s motive in challenging the Tiger Reserve declaration order of the High Court which is in the interest of the state, is completely unclear, said Environmentalist Rajendra Kerkar. He asserted that the state govt’s decision to appoint senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi who charges nearly Rs 25 lakh per day is not in the interest of the Goa govt and the Goa State. If the area is not declared as Tiger reserve, Goa’s forests will continue to be vulnerable, he added. State government has approached the Supreme Court challenging the July 24 order of the High court directing the state to declare the Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary and its surrounding areas as a tiger reserve within three months.
