Digital Goa, Jan 11 – Joint operation by Colvale State Central Jail and Colvale Police have led to the seizure of suspected narcotics and several prohibited articles from inside the jail premises. The action was initiated based on complaint by Mahesh Fadte, Deputy Superintendent, Central Jail, Colvale in this regard against unidentified inmates of the jail. During the search operation on Jan 10, three round-shaped blackish sticky substances suspected to be charas, weighing 30 grams and valued at approximately ₹30,000, were found in the NDPS block. The search also led to the recovery of 15 packets of “Golden Virginia” tobacco, along with loose tobacco wrapped in paper and transparent sheets, valued at around ₹9,000, besides 26 mobile phones of different makes and models, mobile chargers and other prohibited articles.
