Oct 7 – Crime Branch has filed the chargesheet in the horrific accident that took place on Banastari Bridge last year. Seven accused have been named in the 1158 page chargesheet with the driver of the Mercedes car Paresh Sawardekar named as the main accused for driving the accident causing car in inebriated state. AAP State President Amit Palekar also features in the chargesheet along with Paresh’s driver Ganesh Lamani, Abhijit Shetye, Vishnu Tarcar, Atreya Sawant and Prajyot Chodankar. All have been charged for hatching conspiracy, destroying evidence and giving false information to police. Three persons had died, 4 had sustained grievous injuries in the horrific accident on August 6,2023 evening involving two motorcycles and three cars. Police charged Paresh for attempting to plant his driver Ganesh Lamani as imposter driver.
