Digital Goa, August 5 – Panaji Police have registered a cheating case against a Mapusa resident for allegedly leasing out a commercial property after concealing that it had already been mortgaged as collateral for a ₹21.47 crore loan. The case was registered on August 4 on the orders of the JMFC Court, Merces, in this regards following a complaint by Mumbai-based company. The complainant alleged that accused person received ₹36.46 lakh under the lease agreement while falsely claiming the property was free from encumbrances, causing a loss to the firm.
