Govt to appoint 22 staff on contract basis to operate Child Helpline in Goa

    Digital Goa, July 8 –  With govt taking over the operation of Child Helpline, the state govt has announced that walk-in-interviews will be conducted to appoint 22 staff on contract basis on July 25 for running the   helpline for children in distress. The helpline 1098 was earlier operational in collaboration with Childline India Foundation (CIF) and its partner NGOs.  Walk-in-interviews will be held on July 25 for filling up the various temporary posts on contract basis to work at Women and Child Department(WCD) Control Room at Apna Ghar (8 posts) , Child Helpline at District Child Protection Unit North & South (7 posts), Child Help Desk at Mapusa Bus Stand(1) and Child Help Desk at Konkan Railway Station Margao (6). Union Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) had announced last month that in Phase-I   the Childline 1098 service will be merged with the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) number 112 in nine States and Union Territories including Goa.
