Aug 25- Chimbel Panchayat has not yet been officially intimated by the authorities about the proposed Unity Mall Project, informed Chimbel Sarpanch Sandesh Shirodkar. “File regarding the project has not yet come to the panchayat. I will inform the people about it as and when it comes and discuss the same in a Gramsabha,” he said. He asserted that he will stand with the people in their decision about the project. Govt has already floated tender for the Rs 132 crore Unity Mall Project which is proposed to be built with assistance from the Center. Pointing out that the project is proposed at the same site where IT Park was proposed earlier, villagers expressed fear that it will affect the fragile ecosystem around the 51,085 sq mtr Toyyar alias Chimbel lake in the area which has already been declared as wetland.
