Digital Goa, June 29 – Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar on Monday claimed that the Chief Minister and the BJP are working on forming a new Salcete-based ‘secular’ political party ahead of the Assembly elections with the objective of dividing the Congress’ secular vote base. Chodankar alleged that a budget of ₹100 crore has been set aside for the exercise and claimed that the process of forming the new party has already begun with the involvement of certain political leaders. The allegations were made by Chodankar while speaking to the media in Panaji. Reacting to the allegations, BJP leader Siddharth Cuncolienkar said that they are baseless allegations.
