Goa seeks Civil Defence Volunteers to boost emergency response

Government of Goa has invited applications from citizens to enroll as Civil Defence Volunteers (CDVs). Issued by the Home Guards and Civil Defence Organisation, the call is open to ex-NCC cadets, college students, security guards, government servants, and other public-spirited individuals who are willing to serve during emergencies. The initiative, overseen by the Controller of Civil Defence, aims to create a trained volunteer force capable of responding to natural disasters, accidents, and public emergencies through a community-based approach. Volunteers will undergo training in first aid, rescue operations, disaster management, and community safety measures.
