Digital Goa, June 4 – Thousands of students in Goa returned to their classrooms today after the summer break. Though traditionally, new academic starts from June 4 in the state, due to implementation of National Education Policy(NEP) from this year, new academic year commenced from April 7 for Std 6 to Std XII. However, new academic year has commenced for Std I to V from today. Schools had summer vacation in the month of May. Several government schools in the state had to postpone the classes or shift the classes to a temporary place as the repair work of school buildings was not completed in time.
