Digital Goa, April 14- Goa government will extend a Fire Risk Allowance to firefighters from this financial year onwards in recognition of their dedicated service, announced CM Pramod Sawant today. He informed that firefighters have saved 398 lives and protected property worth over Rs 44 crore. He was speaking on the occasion of National Fire Service Day 2025. Mandatory requirement of Fire Safety Certificate for buildings and other industries is not introduced as a means of harassment but as a means of safety, he added. Sawant also noted that Goa has become the first state in the country to have 11 dedicated cyclone shelters.
