Digital Goa, Aug 4 – House today debated the rising cases of deaths in stone quarries in the state and sought immediate preventive action during a calling attention motion moved by Ganesh Gaokar. Replying to the debate, CM Pramod Sawant assured to form a committee of all concerned departments to identify all the illegal quarries in the state. I will direct them to levy penalties on the owners of the illegal quarries and they will be asked to fence the quarry to prevent human beings or animals falling accidentally in it. There is a flying squad to act against illegal stone quarries but govt is still does not know how may illegal quarries are operating or abandoned in the state.
