CM bats for developing resilient tourism practices at G20 meet

    Digital Goa, June 20 – During the inaugural session of the fourth G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting today, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant emphasized the significance of developing resilient practices within the tourism industry, which have been brought to the forefront by the COVID-19 pandemic. He specifically highlighted the efforts of Goa, the first state in India to receive the global Safe Travel stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council India Initiative (WTTCII). Sawant expressed the commitment of Goa to reinvent its tourism sector in a more responsible manner following the pandemic.
    During the event, Shripad Naik, the Minister of State for Tourism, highlighted the significance of the “Goa Roadmap” as a crucial tool for establishing a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient tourism sector. The roadmap, developed under India’s G20 Presidency, builds upon the efforts of the G20 Tourism Working Group over the past three years, he added.
