Digital Goa, June 12 – CM Pramod Sawant informed that he has directed the Electricity Department to keep the implementation of Smart Meters on hold until verification of meters, sanctioned loads and disputed electricity bills is completed.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Sawant said consumers who have received inflated bills or penalties should approach their respective AE or EE offices for rechecking. He advised consumers not to pay disputed bills until verification is completed and assured that no power connections will be disconnected for non-payment for now.
