Digital Goa, October 15 – Commotion broke out during the scheduled election of the sarpanch at Davorlim Panchayat on Wednesday morning. The Block Development Officer (BDO) had earlier cancelled the election process, citing the public holiday declared by the government, and the necessary formalities for the cancellation were reportedly completed. However, according to opposition panchayat members, the BDO later called all members back and asked them to be present at the panchayat office to proceed with the election. This sudden reversal led to protests from the opposition, who objected to conducting the election after it had been officially cancelled. They alleged that the election process was manipulated under instructions from the local MLA.
