Digital Goa, Nov 15- Communidade laws will be amended to protect the houses of native Goans and not to regularize any slums, asserted CM Pramod Sawant. He said nearly 70 to 80 % of the houses to which demolition order has been issued by various communidade administrations are Goans. “They have built their houses way back in the seventies and eighties,” he added. At 5 places including Canacona, Saligao and Pernem, communidades have issued demolition notices, Sawant informed. He went on to add that nearly 500 houses in Canacona and 150 to 200 houses in Saligao are issued demolition notices. CM pointed out that the houses have been built after Communidades gave consent letters for building them. He said solution will be arrived at by taking Communidades and the people into confidence. CM was speaking to media persons after cabinet briefing.
Sawant also informed that Vikas Bharat Yatra will go to all Panchayats in Goa to create awareness about govt schemes.
