Digital Goa, April 11- Government is not opposed to a caste-based census, said Minister of State(MoS) and senior BJP leader Shripad Naik. I am confident that Goa government will not hesitate in conducting caste based census, he said. “As the ruling party, we have to consider all factors before taking a decision,” he said further. Naik added that he will urge the government to conduct the caste-based census at the earliest. “Matters concerning public interest should not be delayed, as delays amount to denying justice,” he opined. OBC leaders delegations have been meeting Congress and Goa Forward leaders over the past few days submitting representations regarding caste based census in the state to these parties in opposition. Commenting on these meetings, BJP State President Damu Naik said that there was nothing wrong in approaching any party. “I will not react abruptly on the issue,” Damu said, when asked about the growing demand for a caste-based census in Goa. BJP core committee, think tank, and the government will jointly discuss the issue and will go ahead by taking everyones opinion into consideration, he said.
