Aug 28- GPCC President Amit Patkar today alleged of massive hill cutting at Pernem by Delta Corp Ltd for a project approved by Goa Investment Promotion Board allegedly to setup Casinos and Gaming Zones. “This Land is partly Natural Cover, partly Cultivable under Irrigation Command Area. Will TCP Minister Vishwajeet Rane dare to act against the violators?” he questioned. Patkar who visited the site complained about the hill cutting to police by calling 112. He informed that the Dy Collector has told him that show cause notice has been issued for the ongoing work. In June 2022 Goa govt had notified the 3.8 lakh sqr mtr land as investment promotion area under the Single Window Clearance Act.
Meanwhile, Goa govt officials visited the alleged illegal hill cutting site at Paithan, Salvador do Mundo today. The hill cutting issue was raised in the Gramsabha held earlier.
