Feb 13- Congress has claimed that one of the prominent minister in the Goa BJP government is facing serious conviction in the largest mining scam in Karnataka and the Special court is likely to sentence him in its final order on Feb 24. “One of the prominent minister in the Goa BJP government is facing serious conviction in the largest mining scam in Karnataka. The case has been in court since 2015, and the court is set to pronounce its final order on February 24, 2025. If found guilty, the minister could face up to seven years of imprisonment,” said Chodankar in his X (formerly Twitter) post. “The complainant is the Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the Lokayukta Karnataka, and the case is currently before a Special Court exclusively designated to deal with criminal cases related to elected past and present MPs and MLAs, Bangalore,” he added. In his post Chodankar dares Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to respond to his post. Congress will wait and watch for the outcome, asserted Girish.
