Digital Goa, Nov 9 – Congress today demanded that Goa govt should recover Rs 271 crore, which are not paid to the government by mining companies involved in mining scam, before Diwali. The biggest defaulter amongst the 42 mining firms is Vedanta company which still owes the government Rs 165 crores, said GPCC President Amit Patkar. Mamlatdar has already issued demand recovery notice to the company for the attachment of property. However, on the other side, government has granted two mining blocks to the same defaulting mining firm, alleged Patkar and said that the government is rewarding the company instead of taking action.
