Congress to hold joint press briefing with alliance partners after completing ZP nominations : Patkar

Digital Goa, Dec 8 – GPCC president Amit Patkar on Monday announced that a joint press conference with alliance partners will be held on Tuesday, immediately after filing all remaining nominations for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat elections. Patkar informed that the party has filed 17 nominations so far, and the remaining candidates will be finalised and filed before the deadline tomorrow, which is also the last day for filing nominations. However, Patkar declined to reveal the names of the alliance parties, stating that the announcement will be made only after the filing process is completed. Congress has been in discussion with the RGP and GFP over seat-sharing. However, recent statements from leaders across RGP and Congress hinted at potential disagreements and uncertainty over whether the alliance would materialise. Patkar’s latest statement has triggered fresh political speculation as parties enter the final hours of the nomination window ahead of the December 20 polls.
