Digital Goa Media completed 21 years of its incorporation in 2023
These 21 years were no doubt full of grit, endurance, innovation, consistency, commitment, challenges, failures, recognition and so on… But what made the journey most valuable was the satisfaction we received while disseminating Goa news to our valued subscribers spread across the length and breadth of Goa and around the world.
The love and encouragement we received from the people of Goa kept the fire burning in us to give our best and keep the idea of Digital Goa floating amidst numerous adversities. Digital Goa News Service, which has the distinction of being the only subscription based digital News service in the country, has been setting high standards of journalism for the past 17 years in Goa.
Way back in 2002, much before ‘Startup’ became a buzzword in India, we launched our InfoMedia startup –Digital Goa. As the name implies, we wished to contribute in taking the benefits of ‘Digital’ technology to the masses of Goa. Our IT fortnightly newspaper ‘Digital Goa’ was launched on April 1, 2002, when computer and mobile penetration was at a very nascent stage. Incidentally, the story of Digital Goa goes hand in hand with the rapid changes Information Technology witnessed in Goa in particular and India and the world in general in the last two decades. Precisely the reason why a cursory glance at some of the initiatives taken up by Digital Goa since its inception may well sum up the history of technological changes witnessed during the period (some of these may even sound bizarre today).
