Digital Goa, Aug 10 – Goa govt today withdrew the ‘controversial’ Goa Bhumiputra Adhikarini Bill, 2021 amid opposition seeking explanation as to why the bill was being withdrawn. Nilesh Cabral, Minister for Law and Judiciary moved a motion under Rule 166 seeking withdrawal of the Bill. “We are supporting you all for withdrawal of the bill The bill which had sought to provide a mechanism to give ownership rights to self-occupied dwelling units of persons living in Goa for at least 30 years was passed in the Assembly on July 30, 2021.
