Conversion of 34,527 sq m land into settlement zone under Section 39-A notified

    Digital Goa, June 5 – TCP Department has notified the conversion of 34,527 square metres of land into settlement zone under the provisions of Section 39-A of the TCP Act.The six land parcels are located in Nagorcem-Palolem (Canacona), Ella (Tiswadi), Loutolim (Salcete), Arambol (Pernem) and Arpora (Bardez). The lands have been converted from categories including partly orchard, partly orchard with no-development slope and irrigation command area, partly cultivable land and natural cover to settlement area in the Regional Plan 2021. The notification states that the alteration and modification of the Regional Plan will remain subject to the outcome of the public interest litigation currently pending before the High Court for final disposal.TCP Department has approved the conversion of 53,722 sq m of land to settlement zone under Section 39A of the TCP Act. The five land parcels proposed for conversion are located in the villages of Nadora, Thivim, Benaulim, Podocem and Ambaulim. The department has invited objections and suggestions from the public on the proposed conversions within 30 days.Digital Goa, June 5 – TCP Department has directed the conversion of over 42,09,301 square metres of land across several villages, including Guirim, Cavelossim, Benaulim, Shiroda and Tiracol, into No Development Zone (NDZ) under the provisions of Section 39A of the TCP Act.The proposed NDZ areas comprise environmentally sensitive land categories such as paddy fields, paddy fields within irrigation command areas, orchards with irrigation command areas, mangroves, water bodies and khazan lands.The proposal covers land parcels in 23 villages. While the notification specifies the survey numbers of the affected properties, it does not indicate the total area proposed for conversion in 18 of the villages.The TCP Department has invited objections and suggestions from the public on the proposed land-use changes within 30 days.
