Digital Goa, Jan 15 – The Sakhali Municipal Council has passed a resolution making it mandatory for all councillors to attend official functions held on days of national importance, including Independence Day, Republic Day and Goa Liberation Day. As per the resolution, councillors who remain absent from such functions on three consecutive occasions will face a deduction of one month’s salary.The council also resolved to install solar power systems on all municipal-owned buildings as part of efforts to promote renewable energy and reduce electricity costs.
