Crowd vandalises venue at Pilar after paid event allegedly fails to take place

Digital Goa, Dec 7 – Chaos erupted near Fr Agnel College, Pilar, after hundreds of people mostly from Jharkhand vandalised the venue of an event allegedly organised by one Jharkhand committee. A large police force was deployed, and police eventually resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd and restore order.The crowd, which reportedly paid Rs 300–350 per ticket, alleged that no programme was held. Several among the irate group, some reportedly under the influence of alcohol, damaged the stage and sound system and even set parts of the stage on fire.
