Crowds throng Fisheries Dept in Panaji to buy white-legged shrimp cultivated at Ela farm

Digital Goa, July 11- A large queue was seen outside the Fisheries Department in Panaji on Friday afternoon as people rushed to buy white-legged shrimp cultivated under a pilot project at the estuarine fish farm in Ela, Old Goa. Priced at Rs 350 per kg, the shrimp were sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with each person allowed to purchase a maximum of 2 kg. Around 200 kg of shrimp was put up for sale as part of department’s aquaculture pilot initiative.
