Oct 7 – The headmistress and the class teacher of Cuncolim school who have been accused by a father of negligence in attending to his severely injured child have been granted anticipatory bail by Goa children’s court. They have been granted conditional bail on personal bond of Rs 25,000 and have been asked to report to police station for 10 days. The seven-year-old student from the Cuncolim school had sustained severe head injury allegedly after being punched by her schoolmates within the school premises. As per the complaint filed by the parents at Cuncolim station, school teachers had neglected the crying child and not given her timely attention, leading to further worsening of her condition. The child was later shifted to GMC Hospital for treatment by the family.
