Digital Goa, May 9- A 28-year-old man from Thane, Maharashtra, has been arrested in connection with a Rs 50 lakh cyber fraud case cracked by the Goa Cyber Crime Police. The accused, Mohammed Sabir Razak Mulla, allegedly impersonated MD of a private South Goa firm via WhatsApp and convinced the company to transfer the amount as an advance for a fake project. The fraud, had occurred between January 14 and 17. The accused was traced to Bhayandar and arrested by a Goa Police team.Preliminary findings indicate that the bank account used in the fraud is linked to similar cyber scams in West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, pointing to a wider racket.
