Digital Goa, 10, July – Colvale police arrested a 19-year-old fraudster, Alok Kumar from Patna, Bihar, for cheating a Thivim resident of Rs 4.24 lakh by falsely promising a Ice Cream brands franchise. The accused impersonated a sales advisor and sent fake registration documents after taking the money. Police team traced him through technical surveillance and arrested him from Paliganj, Patna, on July 6. He was brought to Goa today and remanded to five days in police custody. Around Rs 2 lakh of the cheated amount has been frozen. Police said the accused is linked to five fraud cases totalling Rs 22.2 lakh across India.
