Digital Goa, Aug 24 – Cybercrime cases against women are on the constant rise and so far in this year, as many as 51 cases of this type have been registered by Goa police, informed SP Sunita Sawant. The number was 38 in 2021 and it rose to 90 in 2022, she added. She alerted that cyberspace users are constantly monitored for misuse of the platform especially for crimes related to child pornography. “People should not be under the impression that they can watch or post such content and get away with it. Such information is reported to the police by the agencies, and actions are initiated,”said Sawant. She asked the public to register their cybercrime related complaints through helplines including 100/112 , panaji police control room – 7875756000, Women Whatsapp Helpline- 7875756177, Sr Citizen helpline- 1090, women helpline – 1091, cyber crime financial fraud helpline – 1930 etc and also through Cybercrime reporting portal https://cybercrime.gov.in/
