Dabolim sees footfall of 83.5 lakh passengers in FY 2022-23; Charter flights increase from 39 to 348

Digital Goa, May 30 – Dabolim Airport saw a huge rise in charter as well as regular passenger footfall as compared to previous covid pandemic marred tourist seasons. The number of chartered flights increased to 348 this tourist season from 39 charter flights last year. The chartered flights brought in footfall of 1.4 lakh international charter tourist as compared to 14,000 odd charter tourists in the previous year. For the financial year 2022-23 nearly 83.5 lakh people used the Dabolim Airport, informed Airport Director Dhananjay Rao. This again is substantial rise in footfall which stood at 54 lakh during pre covid time. Dabolim saw charter flights from Kazakhstan – SCAT Airlines, Russia – Aeroflot, Aeron Nomad from Kyrgyzstan, Azure -Russia, TUI- UK. “Season was very good,” Rao said. “We expect more traffic this year. More charters will come as there are no restrictions,” he asserted.
