Digital Goa, April 11- BJP state president Damu Naik has urged Chief Electoral Officer(CEO) Ramesh Verma to keep a check on the sudden rise in the number of voters in Goa’s electoral roll and ensure that illegally enrolled voters do not make their way into it. “We highlighted problems with the roll,” he said after meeting CEO along with party functionaries delegation and submitting a memorandum to him. Naik said that with just 11.8 lakh voters, Goa’s electoral roll can be easily streamlined by weeding out illegal, bogus and dual voters. He called for proper verification of newly added names, to rule out any attempts to alter the state’s demography through bogus entries. Dual voting was also flagged as a concern during the meeting.
