Digital Goa, Aug 26 – Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday(Aug 26) urged CM Pramod Sawant to ensure that no person who sacrificed their life for Goa’s freedom struggle is left out from being recognised. Speaking after inaugurating the renovated Hutatma Smruti Smarak at Patradevi, Singh asked the government to undertake thorough research, identify all those who laid down their lives for Goa’s Liberation and ensure that their names are inscribed at the memorial. Recalling the 1955 Patradevi Satyagraha, Singh said the sacrifices of the Satyagrahis strengthened the resolve that ultimately led to Goa’s Liberation in 1961. He also urged people, specially youth, not to visit the memorial merely to take selfies, but to draw inspiration from the sacrifices of the freedom fighters
