Digital Goa, June 19 – Disqualification petition filed by GPCC President Amit Patkar against Digambar Kamat and Michael Lobo will come for hearing before the speaker on June 26 at 5.30 pm. In a petition filed before Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar in July 2022, Congress had accused the Kamat and Lobo who were Congress MLAs then, of working with BJP to break away two-thirds of its MLAs. While filing the petition Congress had pointed to the Supreme Court judgment of 2020 which stated that any anti-party activity amounts to voluntarily giving up membership of the party. Both Kamat & Lobo along with 6 other Congress MLAs eventually joined BJP in September 2022.
