Doctor duped for Rs 8.67 lakh on pretext of giving Rs 93 lakh loan

    Digital Goa, Nov 26- Three persons have been booked by Colvale police for duping a doctor from Thivim to the tune of Rs 8.67 lakhs on the pretext of facilitating loan of Rs 93 lakh to buy medical equipment. The accused are identified as Sushant Kantak from Margao, Anant Walawalkar from Kankavli and Mugdha Kamat from Ratnagiri. Sushant introduced Anant and Mugdha as officials of a private bank to the doctor. They assured the doctor of helping him obtain Rs 93 lakh loan and made him deposit money to the tune of Rs 8.67 lakh as processing and other fees from June to Nov 25. Police booked the duo after the doctor filed complaint against the trio.
