Saligao police have arrested a domestic worker from Karnataka for allegedly stealing jewellery worth Rs 1.20 crore from house of her employer at Sangolda. The accused has been identified as Hirakka alias Hira Lamani, 40, from Dharwad, Karnataka. Hirakka was arrested on October 29. According to a complaint lodged by her employer on October 28, the jewellery belonged to her and her mother and was allegedly stolen between August 23 and 26, 2026, from her residence at Alto Bella Vista, Sangolda.
