Digital Goa, Oct 26- Goa govt will soon take up Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) which includes doorstep delivery of food grains to the Fair Price Shops across Goa as per provisions under National Food Security Act. Civil supplies dept has invited bids for Transportation and Appointment of Agency for Door-Step delivery of Food grains from Civil Supplies Taluka Godowns to Fair Price Shops (FPS) in all Talukas of the state. As of now FPS owners used to lift the food grains from Taluka Godowns. Earlier this month, All Goa Consumer Co-operative Society and Fair Price Shop Owners Association have resolved not to lift the November quota, claiming they are facing losses in transportation and labour cost besides food grains handling cost. As of Feb 2023, Goa has 5.32 lakh persons covered under the National Food Security Act.
