Digital Goa, Oct 9 – The draft ODP of Calangute – Candolim 2025 has been challenged in the High Court by NGO Calangute Constituency Forum(CCF). Contending that govt does not have authority to prepare the draft ODP and land use map the petitioner has sought declaring of the ODP as unconstitutional and quashing related notifications. High Court has issued notices to Goa government and TCP Department in this regards. The mater has been placed for hearing before the court on November 9. Villagers have been opposing the plan alleging huge swathes of land in eco-sensitive and no-development zones of the coastal regulatory zone (CRZ), besides agricultural land, have been marked as settlement zones, overriding the objections of the people. Villagers had also resolved to reject the draft and move the courts in a special Gram Sabha held in the last week of August.
