Cabinet approves tweaking of E-auction policy
Nov 28- Goa govt is contemplating to get ‘quick and big’ revenue to the tune of approximately Rs 400 to 500 crore by e-auctioning unclaimed dumps in private land within next 15 days. Mining dumps lying in private properties which have not been claimed by the owners and on which land conversion charges have not been paid will be e-auctioned by the government within next 15 days, informed CM Pramod Sawant today. He was speaking to media persons after cabinet meeting. Cabinet granted nod to tweaking of the E-auction policy to facilitate the e-auction of such dumps. 30-40 such dumps have been identified so far, but the state has large number of such dumps, informed CM. Govt will directly get revenue also through royalty payment, he added. “Land in which the dumps are lying will also be freed in the process. Govt will pay the land owners specific amount as lease payment,” Sawant informed.
