Digital Goa, July 3 – The Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated proceedings to delist four Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPPs) from Goa for failing to meet the essential requirement of contesting at least one election since 2019 and for not having a traceable office. As part of a nationwide review, the ECI found that many of the over 2,800 registered RUPPs have failed to meet mandatory conditions. In Goa, the four parties identified are Goa Nationalist Party (Sattari), Goa Praja Party (Tiswadi), Goemcarancho Otrec Asro (Salcete), and United Goans Party (Tiswadi). The move is part of efforts to clean up electoral rolls by removing inactive and untraceable political parties.
