Economic Offence Cell of Mumbai police book 3 Goa real estate company directors in Rs 14.9 cr fraud case

Digital Goa, June 19 – The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police has registered a case of cheating against a Goa-based real estate company and its three directors for allegedly duping a 39-year-old man from Goa to the tune of Rs 14.9 crore on the pretext of buying a piece of land for him in Goa. The complainant Premchand Gawas who hails from Bicholim has alleged in his complaint that he neither got possession of any land nor did he get his money back although he paid Rs 14.9 crore to the real estate company between January 2008 and February 2023 to Reis Magos Estate Private Limited. All the accused are from Panaji and the complainant is from Bicholim. But since the meetings between the complainant and the accused were held at Tardeo, Mumbai the offence was registered with Mumbai police. Case under sections 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant, or banker, or merchant or agent), 420 (cheating) and 34 of IPC has been registered against the 3 directors.
