Digital Goa, April 29- The Enforcement Directorate (ED), Panaji Zonal Office, has provisionally attached 24 immovable properties worth Rs 193.49 crore located in Bardez taluka—including Calangute, Assagao, Anjuna, Nerul, and Parra—as part of the ongoing investigation into the Goa land grab case. The action was taken under PMLA through a Provisional Attachment Order dated April 25, 2025. This is the second major attachment in the case. In 2023, the ED had attached 31 properties valued at Rs 39.24 crore, an action that was confirmed by the Adjudicating Authority (PMLA), New Delhi, on April 15, 2024. The investigation, launched on the basis of several FIRs filed by the Goa Police and probed by the SIT on land grabbing, revealed that the accused used forged documents in the names of deceased individuals or their ancestors to fraudulently claim ownership of land. These properties were either sold to third parties or transferred to associates through sham sale deeds, informed ED. The newly attached properties include both those sold to third parties and those transferred via fake deeds in popular tourist areas of Bardez. With this action, the total value of properties attached in the Goa land grab case has reached Rs 232.73 crore, ED added. A prosecution complaint was filed before the Special Court (PMLA), Mapusa, in this case on April 12, 2024.
