ED searches in Goa linked to Karnataka MLA’s illegal iron ore export case

Digital Goa, August 15 – Enforcement Directorate (ED), Bengaluru, carried out search operations in Goa along with Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi on August 13 and 14, 2025, as part of its probe into the illegal export of iron ore fines involving Karwar MLA Satish Krishna Sail alias Satish Sail and others. The searches, conducted simultaneously in Goa, Karwar, Mumbai and New Delhi under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), stem from convictions by the Special Court in Bengaluru. In the operation, the ED seized ₹1.68 crore in cash, 6.75 kg of gold in jewellery and bullion form, and froze bank account balances worth about ₹14.13 crore. Officials said they also recovered incriminating documents, emails and other records.
