Education rules amended to grant SSC and HSSC equivalence for ITI courses

Digital Goa, September 25, 2025 – Goa government has notified rules, allowing candidates who complete Industrial Training Institute (ITI) courses obtain equivalence of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC). Under the amended rules, candidates who complete a two-year ITI course after Class VIII or Class X and pass the NCVT/SCVT examination, as well as those who complete a one-year ITI course followed by one year of certified apprenticeship, are eligible for SSC or HSSC equivalence. The amendment aims to recognize vocational training and provide ITI graduates with academic equivalence, opening opportunities for further education and employment.
