Digital Goa, June 29 – Preparations for the 2027 Goa Legislative Assembly elections have gathered pace, with election authorities reviewing key arrangements, including Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) checks, polling personnel training, election materials and strong room management. During a review meeting of designated nodal officers handling various election-related responsibilities, it was informed that the First Level Checking (FLC) of EVMs will commence from August 3 in South Goa district and from August 17 in Kushavati district. The meeting also reviewed the District Election Management Plan (DEMP), which is scheduled to be finalised by July. The modalities and timeline for its publication will be decided by the concerned nodal officer. Training programmes for polling personnel are proposed to be held tentatively in September 2026, with preparations to begin accordingly. Authorities also reviewed the submission of election material requirements, which is expected to be completed by August 2026.
