Digital Goa, July 27 – Elections to 10 Rajya Sabha seats, including the one held by Goa Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member Vinay Tendulkar will be held on July 24, the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced today. Tendulkar’s term expires on July 28. The 10 seats in the Upper House of Parliament are falling vacant in July and August with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Derek O’Brien being among those completing their tenures. As per the schedule announced by ECI notification will be issued on July 6, last date of nomination will be July 13. Counting will be taken up on the same day .
Meanwhile, Election Commission has also announced schedule for filling up vacancy created by the resignation of Luizinho Faleiro of TMC from West Bengal State.
