Digital Goa, Dec 7 – As per preliminary investigation the fire at the club at Arpora was caused by an electrical fireworks inside the club premises, informed CM Pramod Sawant. There was no blast of any kind during the incident, he added. Sawant said the extensive wooden interiors caused the fire to spread rapidly. He also pointed out that the premises had only two exit gates, limiting escape routes for those inside. “Some people managed to escape, but those who could not get out attempted to protect themselves by moving to the underground kitchen,” he said. CM added that the preliminary inquiry shows 23 of the 25 victims died due to suffocation, with no burn injuries reported.
